Tomato ‘Brandywine’, Lycopersicon esculentum
Heirloom SEEDS x30
An old tried a true variety of tomato. A must have tomato variety if you’re a serious vege gardener.
This is large giant beefy tomato that is often slightly mis-shapen, but very delicious.
It grows prolifically, and can be trained to have 5 or 6 stems then that can be then each staked, giving you basically 5 or 6 tomato giant plants, that has only been grown from 1 plant!
Sow in early spring in the usual manner, water and fertilize for best results. Also best to steak and train these so the slugs don’t get them on the ground. If you’re in a fruit fly area, they need to be netted (when you net any plant, insects cannot cross pollinate the flowers, and so its seed may not be very viable) – my seed has been cross pollinated, don’t worry.
For most seeds (unless otherwise stated): Sow Spring – Lightly cover and keep moist until germination – best to do in the hot before a rain event. Grow seedling over the spring/summer in shade house with ideal conditions, then plant out autumn with occasional watering for the first 2 years.
Seeds are usually collected from tree/plant shown in photo. I have grown this variety in temperate and subtropical climates. Happy to answer any questions you may have.
My business mission: is to provide backyard owners with seed of Australian Native plants, in particular ornamental species, with aesthetic attributes, to create good vibes and a sense of peace.
And my seller promise; if you purchase from me, I will send it to you.
I use recycled packaging. And I make a note of sending more seeds than stated in page listing. Plus, I’m a definite advocate for ‘organics’ as much as possible, there are no pesticides at my place!
